My week in photos

If anyone was to look at my photo's a year ago, they would have just been filled of my two puppies. If they were to look today, they are full with photo's of our little J, with a few still mixed in of the puppies, as they are still adorable!

I thought that I would share some of the photo's that I took this week....

Jackson exploring his new present which arrived in the post this week.

Out for a walk in his trike.

The puppies came along for this walk!

Jackson enjoying the swings, as per usual!

He's so peaceful when he sleeps, but I do miss him!

Jacksons first year

I have put together some of my favourite clips and photos from Jackson's first year and what an amazing, life changing year it has been! There have been a few down days but there has also been a huge amount up ones!

This took me so much longer than I thought it would, as I have sooooooooo many photos and clips and I couldn't put all of them in - even though this is mainly aimed at my family, I doubt even they would want to watch an hour long video!

What Jackson ate today

Jackson has always been a good eater but has recently started being a bit picky about what he eats. I think he could probably live off bananas, tangerines, chicken and cheese!! Those are definitely his favourites.

For Breakfast today, I made him healthy pancakes. They consisted of one banana, one cup of oats and 2 eggs. To make them, I put all the ingredients in a blender and then fried them in a pan like normal pancakes (it makes more than enough for mummies and daddies as well!!).

He also had 4oz of milk and a few strawberries on the side. After he finished his breakfast, he pointed at the bananas and cried so I gave in and gave him one too!

We went out for a little while, later in the morning, so I took a snack out for him. These Ella's Kitchen smoothies are really good as Jackson can suck it straight out of the packet with no mess (well, hardly any mess!).

For Lunch, he had pasta, cheese, celery, cucumber, carrots and peppers. For pudding, he had a yogurt. After he finished eating it all/feeding the dogs, he pointed at the bananas and cried again, but this time I gave him a tangerine instead!

As an afternoon snack, I gave him a couple of strawberries and a carrot cake bar. The bar is from Organix Goodies and although Jackson does love them, they do seem to stain his clothes, so bibs are a must when he eats them.

Finally, for Dinner, I had a veggie shepherds pie in the freezer which I made a batch of recently. It was an Annabel Karmel recipe and had butternut squash, lentils, carrots and lots more veggies. Having something like this means that Jackson eats all of his vegetables, which I struggle to get him to eat otherwise.

Jackson's first birthday!

Our little baby turned 1 on the 26th March. We decorated the house the night before with green and blue pompoms and banners. We also got a giant number 1 balloon on the day which was bigger than Jackson!

Of course, Chris and I got him lots of presents, including a couple of puzzles, books and a few toys. His main present from us was a bear that we had made using his old baby grows.  It turned out so lovely and was such a good idea, it was also so much bigger than I expected!

We also brought him number One PJ's to wear to bed the night before, which were from Next.

We had a mini party with all of our family and a very few friends to celebrate. Chris' immediate family is big so whenever we have a family do it is always quite large gathering!

I also made a cake for the special day. I used to really like making them but when it came to the decoration part, I always got a bit bored. However, I was really happy with how it came out; I also think my family were quite surprised that I had made it!

And of course Jackson got to try a bit!!

He got soooo many lovely presents from everyone, which I am still trying to find homes for (our house is now like a playground)!

A new thing that I heard of recently for a first birthday, is cake smashing, so a friend of ours bought another cake for Jackson to have a go with! He didn't quite react how I expected him to at first as he wasn't too sure on getting messy.

But he slowly got into it and started to enjoy it!

It was such a lovely day, Jackson was teething and only had a 20 min nap in the morning, so was not on top form but he seemed to enjoy it all the same. Lets be honest, 1st birthdays are always more for the mummy's and daddy's anyway and we had a blast!!!!

Trip to the farm

My Yaya, Jackson's Gigi, is currently visiting from Greece, so we thought that we would have a family day out to the local farm. Jackson and myself are now annual members, so I am sure that we will be going loads more from now on!

We went and saw all of the animals and then had lots of play time in the soft play area. Jackson had a brilliant time!

I filmed our day out for Gigi and thought I'd share it with the rest of you! Just follow the link below.
