16 Weeks Pregnancy Update

Here is my 16th Week update...

Symptoms: Nausea has been much better this week. I went away with my mum for a few days and thought I might of just been feeling better because I was getting extra help from my mum, but since I have been back it's still not returned that much.
I have also just brought my first pair of maternity jeans, as last time, anything that touched my tummy was a no no. I also got all of my old bits from my pregnancy with Jackson down, most of them still look too big and mostly have winter bits on, so no good for now!

Food Cravings: Nothing different to report this week.
Movement: Again, a few flutters but nothing too spectacular. I have been getting a few growing pains this week though.
Sleep: Not had any issues sleeping this week, which I am very grateful for!
Things I am missing: I went over to the in-laws for dinner the other day and they put out a cheese board, which made me really want to eat all the amazingly stinky cheese but obviously you can't when your pregnant.
Best Moment: Going away with my mum and Jackson to the Isle of Wight. We had such amazing weather, it was like being aboard.
Worst Moment: Still having bad skin!! I would really like the glowing look you are promised by so many people in pregnancy.

First Trimester

From now on, I am planning on writing weekly updates on my pregnancy. I have already posted a couple, which some of you may have seen already but the reason I haven't written much about it yet, is that I have pretty much just felt the same throughout my First Trimester. I also had major fears of losing the baby and didn't want to jinx it.

During the First Trimester, I was feeling nauseous pretty much all day but mainly in the evenings. Strangely, mornings were actually my best time of the day, when I would get up at the crack of dawn to get a few things done. One silver lining, I think, is that I haven't actually been sick at all.
The feeling of nausea seemed to be much worse when I was tired or hungry, so I have been going to bed really early and eating LOADS!!!!!!

I have also had that horrible metal taste in my mouth quite often, which makes the nausea feeling 100 times worse. I have, however craved a few things that have helped with that taste, Pickled Onion Monster Munch being one of them, Orange Juice and Apples being a couple of others.

I haven't got a baby bump yet but, by the end of the day, my tummy is definitely bigger than a normal food baby! Bloating has been crazy some days, when my tummy has looked pregnant one day but the next day it would be completely gone.

One really annoying symptom I have had has been really bad skin!!! No matter how good my skin care routine is, it has made no difference!!

At just over 8 weeks, we booked a private scan; we did this for two reasons really - one was because we wanted to tell of my family in Greece the next week, when we were visiting them all. The second was because, at the beginning, I had some issues believing that I was in fact pregnant (this is something I will talk a bit more about in another blog).
It was amazing, seeing our baby on the screen and hearing the heart beat. However, that early on, there really isn't much to see. On the screen, the baby looked a lot more like a baby but in the scan pictures we took away with us, it wasn't so clear.

At just over 12 weeks, we had the NHS scan. It was lovely again to see our little baby. He/She was on it's head for the most of the scan, which sometimes made it difficult to get all the measurements that they needed. He/She played ball in the end, allowing them to get all the measurements. I also had a blood test that checked for a few illnesses, which all came back really positive!

15 Weeks Pregnancy Update

Here is my 15 week pregnancy update...

Symptoms: Nausea seems to have come back again and gets worse at night. I have also started to struggle to fit into some of my clothes, eek!! But I still just look a bit fat rather than pregnant and still not able to fit into maternity clothes, so not a great time looks-wise!

Food Cravings: This week has been all about cherry tomatoes, mozzarella and pesto! I have been making batches of it as a salad and eating it during the day! Yummy!!!
Movement: A few flutters but nothing too much this week.
Sleep: Still going to be bed earlier but due to feeling so nauseous, I have struggled to sleep.
Things I am missing: Nothing really this week but I would still love a bit of parma ham!
Best Moment: I had a VBAC (vaginal birth after c-section) appointment and it was so positive. It made me feel really confident that I might one of the lucky ones that gets to do it naturally!!! I was also told that a water birth might be possible as well, which I really want to do.
Worst Moment: Feeling nausea again, as all I want to do is make the most of my time with Jackson before we have double trouble to deal with!!!

Next week I will remember to take a photo of the bump!!

14 Weeks Pregnancy Update

Each week, I am going to try and give a pregnancy update on how I have been feeling and whats been going on. As well as sharing the information with others, I think that it will be a lovely diary for me to look back on too. Here is my report on my 14th week...
Symptoms: Nausea is still happening occasionally but only when I am very tired or hungry (which is quite often!!). I have suffered from a few headaches this week but, again, this is mainly when I am tired. I also feel like my bump has started to appear!!!! With little J it didn't really show until 20 weeks.
Food Cravings: Sweets and Apples. I have been getting the horrible metal taste in my mouth, which appears to be a common side effect, from what I have read, and these cravings seem to help get rid of it!
Movement: So... I felt a proper kick for the first time!!!! I have felt the occasional flutter before hand but this is the first time that I have had no doubt that it was the baby! It seems so early too!!!!
Sleep: I am going to bed at about 9pm, as I am just too tired to stay up any later. My sleep is very disturbed at the moment, either due to needing a wee or from having lots of dreams.
Things I am missing: Parma Ham - with the lovely weather that we have been having, all I want to eat is Parma Ham and Melon. Also a glass of Pimm's or wine wouldn't go a miss!!!
Best Moment: Feeling the baby kick - BEST FEELING EVER!!!
Worst Moment: Going out for dinner with my Husband and feeling very nauseous!!!

Zara wishlist

Little J doesn't really need any new clothes yet but as we are coming to the end of Summer, we need to start planning for Autumn. I have recently looked at the new collection in Zara and they have some lovely bits for little boys...

The weather wont be cold enough for a proper coat yet but this body warmer might be a good idea for Jacks, and he would look adorable in it!

Of course, everyone knows how much I love Zara leggings, so these are some of my favourites that I have seen recently:

And finally, Autumn would not be complete without some cute jumpers!

Hopefully I will manage to throw a bit of colour into his wardrobe too as, at the moment, I seem to be drawn to monochrome only!!!

Are you all looking at your Autumn wardrobes too or do you think I am being a bit eager?!

Hampton Court Palace Trip

This wasn't a planned blog post but we had such a lovely day at Hampton Court last weekend, I thought that I would share the experience, as I know I am always looking for toddler day-out ideas myself.

Hampton Court Palace is one of Henry VIII's homes, set in some very beautiful grounds. We were given audio guides to take around the palace which told us a bit about each room, however, we tried to take it in turns to listen to as much as we could but Jackson didn't allow that! He did enjoy listening to it himself and pretending it was a phone though.

Jackson sat on Henry's VIII's chair in the Great Hall.

Having fun listening to the Audio Guide.

He was looking pretty sharp that day!

Jackson telling Mummy all about the old Kitchens!

They had a buggy park near the entrance to the Palace, so we left it there while we went and had a look around. He did a lot of walking but in some of the darker rooms he was a little unsure, so Chris would put him on his shoulders or one of us would carry him.

The gardens were just beautiful and they were free to look around, although if you wanted to go the Maze and the Magic Garden that was an additional cost. The Maze seemed to be easier to find the middle than to get out again!

The Magic Garden was incredible, Chris said it reminded him of Teletubbies land! It had a large grassed area in the middle and around the edge it had different themed parts. The sand area was a big hit with Jackson and his Yaya.

Overall we had a brilliant day and will definitely be visiting the Magic Garden again!!!
